Wild Wet Monday

On Monday I took a Forth Bridges Boat Tour with the optional stop-off at Inchcolm Island, on which are the ruins of a 12th century abbey.  As beautiful as this looks, I actually became interested in the boat tour because of the bridges.  There are three in the Forth that are quite close to each other, one of which was built in 1890 and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  The images above and below are of Inchcolm Abbey on Inchcolm Island.  Sadly, for now, even though I am 3 days behind on posting, I am going to leave it at these two and also one picture of the boat ride  .  .  .  will come back and finish this and the two others I've started and tomorrow's soon (I hope!).  I'm basically posting SOMETHING right now so my friends and family who are following me know I am still alive!

The expressions on the faces below say it all!  I know Scotland is known for rain and all that, BUT even the natives were complaining on this day.  It was probably the coldest I have ever felt in my life, and it absolutely poured - not at all the right day to choose a boat ride to an island.  There was still cool stuff about it and other stuff about the day that I'll be posting later.  Every day has just been packed FULL with AMAZING stuff, and I don't want to ask Toby to stop.  Even though I do need some down time, and posting provides that to some degree, I don't want to miss anything in the 11 days I have here, and I have doors opening to me that are almost unimaginable.  (I can't wait to post about today!)  A typical day consists of me and Toby taking off for the "tour" locations that day, touring for 8 or 9 hours, grabbing dinner at about 9pm, talking until about 11pm or midnight (and I'm learning so much from him), and then catching up on email and posting pictures to facebook until about 1:00am - and squeezing in things like trying to figure out how to get the COVID test I need in order to get home so I can get home.  This doesn't leave my time for dilly-dally - nor for blogging, unfortunately.  This actually serves as a journal for me, so I selfishly really, really want to post, but it's just not happening.  The plan is that I will have tomorrow afternoon off (after seeing Rosslyn Chapel).  I hope to do some catching up then.  To all who are following me and/or praying for me: THANK YOU!!!!!
